The Comeback > The Setback

March 26, 2019

A few months ago, I took a much needed break from the social world. This including social media outlets & blogging. I felt like I was suffocating in my own thoughts & feelings. I went through several changes that just left me drained, overwhelmed, and flat out exhausted. During this time I realized that not only am I an over-thinker, I’m a huge negative thinker.  A pessimist as most would say.  Negative thinking is a common trait to those who suffer from anxiety. Which means often times, in most situations your brain naturally anticipates the most possible worst outcome. Talk about a... View Article

Trusting The Transiton

March 26, 2019

Chiiiilleee…. (in my best Sarah Jakes-Roberts voice)…… 2019 started of Roc-ky! The first few months have been filled with a lot of transitions & changes both expected and unexpected. Oddly, the moment my lips uttered to complain, God reminded me of my ‘18 end of year prayer. Each year for the past four years, I’ve brought in the new year at church followed up by intimate private prayer for new goals, new mindsets,  & new opportunities for the upcoming year. March 26, 2019

One of the main struggles that I often see women of color expressing is maintaining healthy skin. You know, that naturally flawless glow. I too am always in search of a new skincare routine tuning into fellow Facebook posts requesting the best remedies. I used to find myself switching skincare products way to frequently with the same dull mediocre results, not to mention spending ridiculous amounts of money with NO bang for the Buck, eh! Let’s just say I’ve been the least bit of impressed. I fall into the category of having really dry sensitive skin so It’s vital that... View Article

The Pruning Process

December 9, 2018

Prune : to cut away, rid or clear of anything superfluous or undesirable. Especially to increase growth. (This term is mostly used in reference to trees, plants, & bushes)   If you’re a Christian you often hear about planting seeds and reaping a harvest. It’s understood that the seeds you plant represent the manifestations of God’s blessings and favor according to the seasons in your life. The reward for sowing, watering and protecting precious seeds symbolizes abundance and fruit from a season of work and sacrifice. Sounds simple, right? Yet, if you’re like most people, you’ve found yourself... View Article

….Stop Giving Life to Dead Situations How many times are we guilty of trying to revive things, situations that no longer serves us purpose? I know that I am in the number. Let’s be clear, though: that doesn’t only refer to things that are already over. It’s also about the things you ‘want’ to be over, but you haven’t yet found a way to let go of. One of my favorite quotes that I frequent quite often says…“Renew, Release & Let Go. Yesterday’s gone. There’s nothing you can do to bring it back. You can’t “should’ve” done something. You can only DO something... View Article
